IT was joyful moment at Assemblies Of God Church, Amawbia,
Awka South LGA, Anambra State, as one of the staffers of Anambra Newspapers
Printing Corporation (ANPC), Onyedikachi Anyaonyeabor walked down the isle to
seal the nuptial vows of matrimonial union with his heartthrob, Josephine Ego
Ajah.
Delivering his
sermon, the officiating minister and
former Assistant District
Superintendant, Assemblies of God Church, Awka, Rev. Emmanuel Ikechi
Okoro, urged Christians to always remember that Jesus Christ is coming very
soon even in the midst of celebration.
He explained that
the world is no longer sweet but can only be sweet for anyone who is in Christ.
According to him, “this age is recording more divorce and the worst is that
Christians are deeply caught in the trend. The world is bad because human
beings have rejected the owner of the world, most divorce cases are as result
of people not following the word of God.”
Emphasising on the
topic, “God’s Order for Family”, the clergy explained that marriage is meant to
be enjoyed, urging couples to recognise Christ as the Lord of the family. “The
man should love his wife even as Christ loved the church while the wife should
be submissive to the husband”.
He further reminded
them that marriage is not only coated with sweet but challenges too, which must
be overcome with prayers and good understanding of each other.
Expressing his
feelings, the bride’s elder brother, Justice Cyprian Ajah, congratulated the
new couple for fulfilling a big responsibility in the life of all people who
are not on the line of celibacy by either call or choice.
He expressed
optimism on the prospect of the marriage while bestowing his fatherly blessings
on them.
“I have no doubt
this marriage will yield good fruits. The girl whom I have given into marriage
today is my younger sister. She was well brought up and I am sure she will
bring her virtues to bear as she continues her new chapter of life as a wife in
her own home.
As we are here to
celebrate this marriage, my prayer for them is to have a fruitful marriage,
live in peace and harmony with understanding and undying love for each other
The young man is
full of humility which is a sign that both will be for each other with God
leading the line. I wish them good luck.” He surmised.
In his own
contribution, the Managing Director and CEO, Anambra Newspapers Printing
Corporation (ANPC, publishers of National Light Newspaper, Ka O Di Taa and Sportslight Xtra Newspapers), Sir Chuka
Nnabuife, expressed profound gratitude to God on behalf of the young couple,
describing Onyedikachi as one with focus and clear sense of direction in
placement of his priorities.
“I saw a young man
who has his head on his shoulder. He is purposeful and I am glad the whole
thing falls in place in his wedding like it had long been planned even when it
had not been long he told me about his plans to settle down in marriage with
whom he has found. Onyedika did not procastinate. A good number of young men in
his age will wait for their considered perfect time and may miss their chances
in the process. So, I commend him for being astute.”
He advised them to
love one another, while praying for them to be blessed with children and every
good thing marriage brings. He however cautioned them not to expect no
challenges in their married life for there are no rose gardens without
thistles.
Sir Nnabuife advised
them to overcome all their challenges with weapons of prayer.
In his vote of thanks, the chief celebrant expressed
gratitude to all who made the day eventful, especially management and staff of
ANPC.
Highlights of the
event were exchanges of rings and vows by the couple; first public feeding of
each other by the couple, as well as significant number of ANPC’s staff that
graced the event.
