ANAMBRA State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano’s administration
has continued to soar in appreciations from far and near, this time, the eulogy
comes from an Anambra born Philanthropist and society builder, Dr. Emeka
Chukwuemeka.
Speaking to National
Light reporter in a chance meeting at Nkpor, Idemili Local Government, Emeka
emphasised that the state has grown tremendously in many sectors under the
watch of Obiano.
He was particularly
enthralled by the landmark laurels education is bringing to the state,
describing it as visible manifestation of well articulated policy guide of the
man at the helm of affairs.
“I appreciate
all that has been going on in the state. Governor Willie Obiano is a true
democrat. Using Nkpor Technical College where I am the PTA Chairman as a point
of reference, the governor’s interventions are very commendable. We (PTA) members associate ourselves with the
good works of the government.
At a time, erosion
threatened the area, government quickly mobilised for the control. We can see
the synergy between the state government and the local government, therefore,
his quick intervention on the erosion threatened area near GTC, Nkpor did not
come as a surprise but only affirmed our belief in good relationship between
the governor and the Idemili Local Government TC Chairman, Nnabuife Asha.
Ordinarily, the
erosion project should be a federal government project but the state government
did not fold their hands and wait for it (erosion) to overwhelm the area.”
Continuing,
“the Government Technical College Nkpor road has been in terrible
condition but everyone can see that work has commenced in earnest there to
alleviate the people’s sufferings in the area.”
He used the
opportunity to appeal to government to take seriously programmes that enhance
capacity building, especially, at the secondary school level; pointing out that
Japan and China made tremendous technological advancement from engaging the
young minds in science and technology project from grassroots level.
