Wichtech deepens operations in Delta

THE Chairman, CEO of Wichtech industries, Dr. Wilson Nwankwo has received commendation from the federal government on the establishment of roof titles manufacturing plant in Okpanam, Delta State.

The commendation came through the Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo at the official commissioning of Wichtech Roof Titles manufacturing plant limited in Okpanam.

He noted that the N1.5 billion project is a good example to other business and investors to emulate, stressing that it sends a strong signal that Nigeria is open to business.

His words, “I have to commend the Chairman of Wichtech Industries Ltd. for great work accomplished over the years. It is an attestation of hardwork and efforts of the leadership of the company which in its  20 years of existence as an indigenous company, has seen the company grow to float many offices across the country with a workforce of  about 1,200 personnel.

The governor of Delta State, represented by Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edeube said that the state would collaborate with the federal government to give the industry the necessary support to create jobs for Deltans.

The chairman of the industry, Dr. Nwankwo earlier highlighted the impediments associated with doing business in Nigeria as high bank interest rate, multiple taxation and epileptic power supply. He appealed to the federal and state government to look the challenges with a view to creating an enabling environment for investors.
