Christmas: Group to host less privileged in Nnewi market



MEMBERS of Nnewi Auto Spare Parts Association (NASPA), Nnewi, have finalised plans to host the less privileged from all South East States on Monday.

To this end, the chairman, Nnewi Auto Spare Parts Association, Obinna Okechukwu told our correspondent at his office that this gesture became necessary in view of the fact that these less privileged persons depend on public minded people to celebrate Christmas.

Okechukwu, popularly known as Becker,urged all to share the little they have with those they are better than and advised  motorists, especially commercial vehicle drivers to drive with caution now that we are in the last Ember month that ushers in Christmas.

He reminded them that christmas is made for the living and not the dead or injured. He said that Christmas was actually meant for Christians and all to think on their journey from January to December and give thanks to God for his perfection and grace as well as plan for the New Year.

He used the opportunity to table down some of the achievements of NASPA where he has spent less than 12 months as its Chairman,which includes tarring of all the access roads within the 22 zones, water supply and maintenance of their zone with sound environmental exercise which their sanitation unit organises every three days irrespective of the governments general monthly sanitation.

He said that what gave them joy  this Christmas  and New Year season is the availabity of  visible and sound security  measures Gov. Willie Obiano has afforded the people of Anambra State and its visitors, especially the recent launch of Operation Mkpochapu, which according to him, will make people return home for Christmas and New year celebrations.

The Chairman of NASPA Disciplinary and Security Committee, Chief Okwodoro Izuchukwu- Osisikankwu expressed satisfaction at the rate Okechukwu, the NASPA Chairman has transformed the day to day management of all the 22 zones that make up NASPA Family, especially the trophy he donated for football competition among these 22 Zones which according to him, was aimed at uniting the NASPA members and generating brotherly love among them.

An elder statesman in new motorcycle parts, know as Yoko Auto President, Chief Pius Ogbuawa praised the good job Okechukwu has done in NASPA sector under one year of Chairmansip.
