Ed Woodward ‘blocks’ Young’s Milan January transfer

SERIE A giants, Inter Milan are in discussions to sign Ashley Young from Manchester United but the switch is likely to take place in the summer.

Ed Woodward has blocked Ashley Young from leaving Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Inter Milan are in talks over a shock move for Young, who has been at Old Trafford since 2011 when he joined from Watford.

The 34-year-old is out of contract at the end of season and is free to negotiate a free transfer ahead of the summer window.

According to Football Insider , Young has accepted an offer from Inter and is poised to sign a pre-contract agreement.

He is set to become the third player to make the move from United to Inter in the space of 12 months.

Romelu Lukaku joined the Serie A giants on a five-year contract last August before Alexis Sanchez completed a loan switch later in the month.

The news of Young’s discussions with Inter emerged after he was left out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 18-man squad for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final with Manchester City last night.

When asked about Young’s future following the 3-1 defeat, Solskjaer said: “Tonight is not the time to talk about players leaving. Young has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the first-choice right-back following his big-money move from Crystal Palace last summer.

    Well done Woodward. How many more players do you want to annoy. We already have almost a squad who don’t to play for the club and now you are adding Young to the list, MU have become the Everton of Liverpool
