Gift Ifeka weds Uchenna Okeke

THE atmosphere was filled with joy at Church of Pentecost (Anglican Communion), Awka, as Chimdindu Gift Ifeka walked down the aisle to join hands in holy matrimony with her heartthrob, Uchenna Chibuike Okeke.

Delivering his sermon, Rev. Emmanuel Madueke urged Christians to always make God their cornerstone and abide by his injunctions by keeping his words.  While drawing reference to biblical parable of 10 virgins, he admonished Christian faithful to prepare and know that there is a greater marriage ahead which is the second coming of the Lord.

Rev. Madueke admonished the youth to know the primary purpose and understanding of what marriage is all about, before getting married. “Marriage as an institution that is ordained by God and marriage without God is crisis. Many youths don’t know the reason why they are getting married.

Some think because their mates are getting married, because they are only sons and because they have everything in their possession. Anybody that enters marriage with this kind of mind set has lost the way. According to Genesis 2, God saw that it  is not good for man to be alone and needs a helpmate to complete.

He further advised both families to always have their unflinching support for their son and daughter in their journey as husband and wife

In his message to the newly wedded couple, the Vicar of St. Barnabbas Anglican Church, Omagba Onitsha, Rev. Dan Umeokey said, “marriage is an institution. If you enter, you start learning. Two people from different backgrounds are coming together to start a journey of a life time.

Tolerance, understanding, sincerity, these are what will provoke love to be in action all the time and for all of us who are in marriage already, the Lord will continue to beautify our marriages.

Expressing his feelings, the father of the groom said that he was delighted  and filled with happiness to witness wedding union of his son with his lovely wife.

The mother of the bride, a lecturer from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Ogochukwu  Ifeka said that she was overwhelmed with joy and prayed to God to bless them with every good thing that marriage brings, seal their love for each other,  and that they cherish themselves all the days of their lives in  peace and harmony.

In their vote of thanks, the couple while thanking God for a successful wedding, expressed their profound gratitude to family, colleagues, friends and well wishers who graced the event and made it memorable for them.
