Kidnappers free five victims in Delta

FIVE Kidnapped Victims have been reportedly   freed in Delta State after payment of ransom.

  National Light gathered that the victims were kidnapped by gun trolling men who hijacked the sienna bus with four passengers and the driver, Habid Abdulsalem and took them into a bush between Agbor in Delta State and Igbanike in Edo State.

  Narrating his ugly experience, the driver of the vehicle, Habid said they were abducted at a depllorable spot along Onitsha Ugbo/Idumije Ugboko road in Annicha North Local Government Area of Delta State and took them into a bush in Edo State.

  He stated that they were held hostage for five days before their relatives secured their release by paying various sums of money.

  According to him, “when I was trying to slow down through the pot-hole on that road, I was ordered to stop at gun point. They   were six armed men carrying AK49 rifles. We were taken into a thick bush between Agbor and. Igbanke and they demanded ransom. Some paid N 2000 while others paid N6000 and above.”

  Confirming the release, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP. Oneme Onovwapoyeya said the victims were rescued by operatives attached to Issele- Uku police division, adding that the command is making serious effort to arrest the kidnappers.
