Over 100 Umueri natives enroll into AHIS

AS MORE citizens along communal, corporate and individual basis continue to key into Gov. Willie Obiano’s strategic health delivery policy, the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (AHIS) in Anambra State, over 100 people of Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area have enrolled into the scheme.

  Special Adviser to Gov. Obiano on Health and Executive Secretary of AHIS, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, gave the number while speaking during an event at Umueri Civic Centre.

  The event was organised under auspices of a group of United States-based donors who are indigenes of the town, who said that investing into the scheme, by enrolling over 100 elderly people of Umueri, was their own answer to Gov. Obiano’s Akulueuno development clarion.

  According to Dr. Onyemaechi, the health centre was not only built with one of the tranches of N20 million benefitted by Umueri under the choose-your-project community development initiative of the state, but the governor is also not looking back on his mission to ensure that everyone among ndi Anambra is captured in the health insurance scheme to generate more affordable health care delivery.

  Appealing to affluent people to help less privileged ones enroll into the scheme for a better and healthier Anambra State, Dr. Onyemaechi stresses that only so doing will reciprocate Gov. Obiano’s untiring efforts to get the message across ndi Anambra notwithstanding the huge resources being committed into the campaign.
