What should you wear to job interview?



INTERVIEW is a formal meeting between the employer and applicant, where questions are asked to ascertain if the applicant is suitable for a particular job applied for.

  While dressing for an interview, choose the type of wear that will  give you comfort and is fit for   the position you are applying for. There are different types of dresses  for an interview which can be  formal, informal or casual dressing.

  In any case, one have to be  conscious of the environment or organization he or she is preparing for.

  For men, dark sober colours are always good and cotton wins over linen. Shoes should be brown or black-black, grey or blue suit, brown with a brown or blue shirt.

  Avoid mixing black and brown.

Always go for leather not suede.

A well knotted tie which will match the shirt or suit.

Although it is not just what you wear, but how you wear it that counts. Remember that while fashion changes, style remains.

Before going for an interview, remember to ask yourself what you should wear to a job interview. The clothes your wear, is it what the job interviewer of such organization requires or needs.

  For women, you have to make a choice between trousers or shirt. The rule with a skirt is that the hemline should be no more than one biro length above the knees. You can’t go far wrong with black..Navy, brown and in the summer, a higher plain colour are also perfectly fine.

  Don’t be afraid of colours. People seem to be frightened of wearing coloured  clothes to an interviews. You don’t only need to wear black or grey. Wearing a block of  coloured  blouse, skirt tie, scarf or dress can be a nice way to your  personality without distracting you from what you are saying.

  Every organisation has its own dress code that is why in law enforcement agencies, like a  policeman dresses up in uniforms to arrest a criminal, just as judges wearing wigs and robes.

  Equally, it is not just for hygienic reasons that doctors and nurses in hospital have a certain dress code. All these is for you to  gain influence, feel comfortable and look smart.

What you wear should reflect the role you are interviewed for.
