The people of Ifite-Ogwari,  in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State, have expressed gratitude to Governor  Willie Obiano  for the state government’s kind intervention in the infrastructural development of the area.

Traditional ruler of the community, Igwe A. I. Ofuebe made the commendation while speaking to the press in his candid assessment of the performance of the incumbent All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) administration in the state, and thanked the governor for entrenching water-tight security which had made Anambra the safest and most attractive investment destination in the country.

He confirmed that Ifite-Ogwari benefitted  from  the first and second phases of the innovative ‘Choose Your Project’ scheme of the state government with the completion of their modern civil centre and renovation of schools popularly chosen by the people which the N40 million (N20m each phase) was invested on.

The royal father applauded the governor for the unprecedented grassroots’ development strategy worthy of emulation by other states in the South-East and the country at large.

According to Igwe Ofuebe, the ‘Choose Your Project’ ensured a well balanced distribution of the dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of the state by the Obiano’s administration which differentiated him and other past civilian administrators of the state.

Igwe Ofuebe, who was the deputy chairman of Anambra Traditional Rulers’ Council, further noted that Ayamelum people were overwhelmingly impressed with the cordial relationship between the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Uchenna Okafor, an indigene of the area, and Governor Obiano, stressing the necessity for an effective synergy among the three arms of the state government.

He also applauded the state government’s far-reaching thrusts in women and youths’ empowerment as well as the current agricultural revolution that has catapulted the state to an enviable height as a major food basket of the country which equally meant economic advancement of the peasant farmers in the hinterlands.

He prescribed the standard quality of roads being constructed in Ebonyi State to be replicated in the entire South-East Zone while the Anambra model of security, education and grassroots’ development blueprint be emulated by other states for rapid emancipation of the populace.

Igwe Ofuebe, however, urged the state government to channel more efforts towards the rehabilitation of inter-communal and rural feeder roads before the next rainy season in order to ameliorate the problems being encountered by farmers in transporting their agricultural produce to urban cities, as a way of boosting the living standard of the masses.
