WIFE of Governor of Anambra State and Founder of Caring Family Enhancement (CAFE) initiative, Dr. (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has called on mothers in Anambra State to step up their care at the home front.

Mrs. Obiano sent the call in Awka, through her special goodwill message to women and mothers of the Anglican Communion to mark their 2020 Mothering Sunday celebration.

According to the governor’s wife, the call becomes imperative against the backdrop of current global adversities and pandemics that require more care and caution particularly at the homes.

She listed some of the adversities to include the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

Urging women and mothers to rise up to the challenge by rededicating themselves to prayer and hygiene, while cautioning against nonchalance or aloofness on the ground that Nigeria is not yet the epicentre of the fast-spreading virus, Mrs. Obiano called women to imbibe preventive tips and measure to keep their families free from epidemics.

“In our interconnected world, no one can claim to be safe from the fast-spreading global pandemic. As mothers, we all are worried about the wellbeing of families. Women are proven vessels of evangelisation and prayers, and it is a good time for us to deploy that special talent.

I therefore urge mothers of the Anglican Communion to kneel in supplication to God on this special occasion to ease the pains of the sick everywhere and heal the world,” she said.

Osodieme also used the occasion to commend the state government for its commitment to wellbeing and health of ndi Anambra, especially women and children, by adopting proactive strategies in improvement of healthcare.

She therefore solicited support and prayer from mothers and women to all the policies of the administration in order to motivate Gov. Obiano to continue with his good works for the people.
