Oshiomhole returns

… Chairs NWC meeting today
… Mixed reactions trail his return
… Kyari hosts him in Aso Villa

NATIONAL Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole’s reinstatement by Court of Appeal yesterday, has been drawing kudos and knocks from staff at the party’s national secretariat.

Delivering its ruling, a three-man panel of the appellate court had earlier stayed yesterday the execution of a ruling of the High Court of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) suspending Oshiomhole as national chairman of the ruling party restraining the respondents in the appeal from proceeding to act or take any further steps with regard to the ruling of the high court.

At the APC secretariat, while some rejoiced over his return, others expressed disappointment blaming high wire, behind-the-scene deals for the judgement.

Source at the secretariat said: “His resumption is a bag of mixed grill that may spell ultimate fall for the ruling party.”

Another welcomed Oshiomohole’s reinstatement, lamenting that things had been very difficult for them in his absence during which Acting National Secretary, Victor Giadom and his loyal National Working Committee (NEC) took over the running of affairs at the secretariat.

“We are ready to receive Oshiomhole even if he wants to resume today. We have suffered in the past three weeks. We are now borrowing to come to work every day because nothing is coming from these ones that want to remove Oshiomhole.

Nobody is visiting the secretariat since they took over because this place has become a war zone where security agents deployed personnel intimidating even the passers-by. The Giadom faction was busy plotting how to remove Oshiomhole without caring about the welfare of the staff.

How innocent are even those accusing him? We have married two wives and can now know which one is better,” he insisted.

In similar vein, Oshiomhole, will chair the enlarged National Working Committee (NWC) meeting today as a confirmation that he has taken charge of the running of the party.

National Publicity Secretary of APC, Lanre Issa-Onilu, stated this in a  release he issued in Abuja, yesterday, adding that the meeting will hold at the party’s national secretariat by 12 noon.

“A meeting of the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the party’s National Secretariat by 12pm.

All members of the NWC are expected to attend as important matters concerning the party will be considered and deliberated at the meeting.

Recall that a Court of Appeal on Monday, stayed the execution order of a High Court restraining the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole from further acting in that capacity,” the notice read.

In a related development, Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari yesterday, met with Oshiomhole.

Oshiomhole visited Kyari while President Buhari was at Eagles Square to declare open the 2020 Science, Technology and Innovation Expo.

A source privy to the meeting said the agenda might not be unconnected with his suspension and subsequent reinstatement as national chairman of the ruling party.
