DEPARTMENT of Communication Network (DEVCOMS), a family health advocacy group, in collaboration with Anambra State Ministry of Health, last week,  paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Newspaper and Printing Corporation (ANPC), Sir Chuka Nnabuife to seek partnership with the media house.

The State Program Coordinator, Mr Aneoteh Egbeh, who represented the Managing Director of DEVCOMS, Mr Akinjimo appreciated Sir Chuka Nnabuife and noted that they are overwhelmed and delighted by the corporation’s activities and reportage.

“In the media cycle in Nigeria, Akinjimo is very popular and putting the family planning to the social course for a social development and on board with the TCI is to talk about family planning. They have been trying their best pushing out the issue of family planning but find out that we need to be strategic.

Today, we are in National Light to seek for your support using the media to talk about the misconception of family planning which will be clearly stated while presenting media brief to you”, he said.

On his part , Mayowa Adeniran added that , it is important that couples space out during child bearing, urging the religious and community leaders to help in educating their people, emphasising on its benefits as they listen and understand the advise of the leaders and other members of the community.

While addressing the group, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Newspaper and Printing Corporation (ANPC), publisher of National Light newspapers, Ka Ọ Dị Taa, and SportLight XTRA, Sir Chuka Nnabuife stated that National Light is the longest thriving state owned newspaper.

“The name is from a Monica by Zik of Africa, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, which is ‘Show the Light and Let the People Find the Way’ i.e the Monica for one of his papers ‘Spokesman’, and from there, we took the name “Light” which has been a  national circulating newspaper, and we never had a broken chain till date.

“Whereas other newspapers that were existing and those that started before us had broken before they reorganised, while some couldn’t reorganise.  We have facilities here for workshop at the ICT and enterprise center including event halls for any advocacy meeting or program with enthusiasm”, he said.

He assured the group of the corporation’s willingness to partner with them.

Other personnel in the gathering are the Editor of ANPC, Mrs Rose Oranye, the Administrative Consultant, Mr Onugha, the Accountant of the organisation, Mrs Obiageli Odiaka.
