OSUN State Police Command yesterday arrested a housewife, Salamat Kehinde, for allegedly setting her husband’s house ablaze.
The incident happened in Ori Eru in Iwo during which a six-bedroom building belonging to Lamidi Kehinde was completely razed.
Although no life was lost to the inferno, values of the items in the building were put at over N3m.
Assistant Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Mustafa Katayeyanjue, confirmed Salamat’s arrest.
According to him, the suspect was being held at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
“One Lamidi Kehinde of Offadio in Ori Eru, Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State, reported that his second wife, Salamat Kehinde, burnt his six-bedroom house with all the property therein valued at about N3m. No life was lost. The suspect has been arrested and is being interrogated at the SCIID. The case is under investigation,” he said.
