COVID-19 cases escalate as pandemic spreads



The number of Coronavirus cases in Nigeria has risen to 111, jumping from two digits figure of 65 to three digits in three days.

According to report, confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria as at today is now 111 with three persons fully recovered after contracting the infection.

Reacting to the development, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki called on Nigerians to imbibe all preventive and protective measures put up by the government to ensure that Nigerian society is not overwhelmed by the scourge.

Speaking through his Twitter handle, he stated, “At this point when physical distancing, self isolation, holistic sanitation and hygiene, alongside other safe-keeping measures are recommended by experts as means of controlling the spread. I urge Nigerians to co-operate with the government.”

Further reports put CONVID-19 death toll in Nigeria at ‘one,’ against rumours of two and three peddled at the end of last week.

It will be recalled that the world has so far recorded 741,030 confirmed cases with death toll rising to 35114, while 156,838 persons have recovered from the infection.

United States of America is presently topping the chart of countries with greatest number of confirmed cases, posting a figure of 143,055 with death figure standing at 3438, while 4435 persons have recovered as at today.
