Anambra commences fumigation of major markets

ANAMBRA State Government, today, commenced fumigation of major markets to sanitize them of any contamination.

  The exercise, which started at the popular Main Market, Onitsha, is to ensure that coronavirus does not spread in the state.

Commissioners for Trade and Commerce, Uchenna Okafor , Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, Managing Director of State Fire Service, AVM. Ben. Chiobi Rtd, Executive Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) and SPAD on Health to Gov. Obiano, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi and others were present.

The governor, Chief Willie Obiano, who is also the chairman of the state  announced that, ” we shall commence the fumigation of the 63 markets in Anambra State while the traders are at home. This will help to reduce the toxicity of the business environment and minimise the exposure of our people to different kinds of infections”.

Action Committee on COVID 19 had on 2nd of this month announced that, ” we shall commence the fumigation of the 63 markets in Anambra State while the traders are at home.
