Anambra commends health workers on World Health Day

ANAMBRA State Government has commended the commitment of frontline health workers, especially nurses and midwives in delivering healthcare services to the people.

  The commendation is coming on the heels of 2020 World Health Day celebration, in remembrance of the critical role nurses and midwives in international community healthy.

  The theme for this year’s edition is “Support Nurses and Midwives.”

  Secretary to State Government (SSG), Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, gave the commendation in a goodwill message to Anambra health workers.

  According to him, nurses and midwives and other front line health workers often pay the supreme sacrifices in a bid to save the world from diseases, especially pandemics.

  This, he said, is why beyond contributing in materials and actions, the state government is always committed to improving their working conditions.

  Also speaking, Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, explained nurses and midwives as an integral part of team fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, there are sustained efforts by the government in retraining healthcare services providers on competence and cases management.
