COVID-19: NCDC trains police officers in Anambra

NIGERIA Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has trained no fewer than 50 officers and men of the Anambra Police  Command on prevention and control of the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

  The training was facilitated by Dr Jane Ezeonu of NCDC and the state command’s medical officer, Dr Emelike Chinenyen, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

  The training was aimed at enabling the police health officials to possess the basic skills needed to prevent the spread of the dreaded virus among officers and men of the force in the state.

  According to the facilitators, the training has become necessary in view of the enormous tasks facing members of the force, who are at the forefront in enforcement of government order against spread of COVID-19.

“The one-day training took place at the state command’s headquarters, Amawbia, in collaboration with the Police Medical Services, Anambra State Command and the NCDC.”

  Anambra State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr John B Abang addressed participants during the training session at the command’s conference hall on social distancing and other precautionary measures.

  He enjoined the officers to pay attention to the training in order to acquire requisite knowledge about the deadly virus and how to prevent its spread to the benefit of the entire officers and men of the command
