Anambra hospitals receive COVID-19 PPEs from ASHIA

HOSPITALS and other healthcare delivery facilities in Anambra State have received anti-COVID-19 materials to help them in the fight against the deadly virus.

  The items were distributed to them by Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA).

  Speaking to newsmen at the ceremony, an executive of ASHIA and Special Adviser to Gov. Willie Obiano on Health, Dr. Onyemaechi said the exercise is in line with what the state government is doing in ensuring that ndi Anambra are protected and safe at this critical time.

He also explained that items donated were mainly those work in prevention of infection.

  According to him, healthcare providers are highly at risk of contracting the disease, and so there is every need to ensure that health workers are protected while discharging their duties.

  Dr. Onyemaechi equally used the opportunity to sensitise the hospitals visited on COVID-19 preventive measures.

  Thanking ASHIA while taking delivery of the items, two officers of Anambra Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Njelita Chukwudi and Dr. Ezenwabachi thanked the agency for its magnanimity.

  They also assured that the items will be utilised properly. These items include face masks and alcohol-based sanitisers.
