President general draws govt’s attention to Nteje-Nkwelle Road

ANAMBRA State Government grassroots’ development strategies, especially the construction of asphalted network of roads in the food producing hinterlands across the state, has been commended as a model worthy of emulation by other states in the South-East.

President-General of Nkwelle-Ezunaka Town Union (NEU), in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Leonard ArehOnyenze, made the commendation in a press interview while baring his mind in assessment of the performance of the incumbent Governor Willie Obiano’s administration.

Mr. Onyenze rated Governor Obiano’s era as the most people-oriented amongst the successive administrations, due to his multi-pronged master-plans which now laid the solid necessary foundation for the emancipation of all sectors of the state’s economy with massive visible and tangible results in all spheres.

He applauded Governor Obiano’s sustained efforts to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) , such as timely equipment of medical facilities across the state, distribution of economic stimulus packages to the vulnerable people and tax relief for the business community.

The PG, however, appealed to the governor to include the long neglected Nteje-NkwelleEzunaka Road in the next batch of road projects of the state government to provide the town and other neighbouringcommunities direct access to the LG headquarters (Nteje) instead of the rigorous journey of plying the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway.

Mr. Onyenze finally confirmed that the consignment of relief packages including 200 bags of rice, tin tomatoes and salt was received and distributed to aged people from 70 years old and expressed gratitude to Governor Obiano and his wife, Lady Ebelechukwu Obiano for their pathological interest in promoting the welfare of ndi Anambra with a fervent prayer that God would reward them accordingly.
