COVID-19: No long story, says Melaye



…Shares sanitizers to his constituents, to keep his ’debtors’ alive

FORMER Senator, representing Kogi West in the Senate, Dino Melaye, says, he is not letting anything to chance in ensuring that his debtors remain healthy during this COVID-19 pandemic era.

  The politician stated that he has opted to give out hand sanitisers, face masks to his debtors and also checks on them daily to make sure they are in good health to pay him back the money they owe.

  Melaye noted that he does not want to hear stories that touch.

  Disclosing this through his social media platform, the popular Nigerian politician stated that he checks on them on a daily basis to ensure that they are staying at home and adhering to the laid down rules about social distancing.

  He further humored his followers on photo sharing app, Instagram where he was distributing hand sanitisers and face masks to those who are owing him money.

  “I gave out sanitisers and masks to everybody owing me money. I check on them every day to ensure that they are staying at home and keeping social distancing.”

  Explaining the reason for his action, the ex-senator stated that he does not have the strength to cause a scene when his debtors come up with touching stories. According to him, they are in his everyday prayers.

  It will be recalled that Melaye, raised early alarm on possible havoc Coronavirus might wreck in the north, urging governors of the northern states to be more proactive in staving off the pandemic.

  The former House of Representatives member warned the state chief executives not to play politics with the coronavirus outbreak.
