Nysc member donates April allowance to Anambra COVID-19 taskforce

A NATIONAL Youth Service Corps member serving in Anambra State, Samuel Ikechukwu Ifere has donated his April allowance to the Anambra State COVID-19 Taskforce.

  Mr Ifere explained that the donation was his own little contribution in support of the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

  The Corps member handed over his N32, 800 cash donation to Chairman of the state’s NYSC Governing Board, Mr Afam   Mbanefo, who doubles as Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy.

  Receiving the donation on behalf of the taskforce, Mr Mbanefo noted that the fight against COVID-19 was a cause worth  

  He seized the opportunity to call on every group to do as much as they could to support the system.

  The commissioner urged Ndi Anambra, as well as the youths to manage as much as they could now.

  The donor, Mr Ifere, noted he was motivated to send in a donation on the day he heard that federal lawmakers announced donation of half of their salaries to the federal government to fight spread of the pandemic.

  “How I wish I have like as much as them. I thought I should donate my April allowance.”

  He also noted that it was God’s mercy that had been sustaining some corps members in the state.
