COVID-19: Anambra’s Women Affairs Ministry fumigates office

FOLLOWING Anambra Government’s proactive measures in the fight against spread of coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Anambra State embarked on fumigation of its offices.

  The office is located at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.

Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Ndidi Mezue explained that the fumigation was one of the strategies aimed at curtailing the spread of the virus.

“The fight against COVID-19, which is a global pandemic is a fight that everybody must put all hands on deck to fight in order to reduce the spread of the deadly disease.”

Lady Mezue directed that all workers and visitors in and around the office complex must wear face masks, wash and sanitise their hands for at least 20 seconds in line with the guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

She distributed free face masks and sanitisers to all the departments within her ministry.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Dan Ezeanwu praised government for giving them a proactive commissioner, committed to the development of Anambra State.

He assured the commissioner that all the directives given by government in the fight against the global pandemic would be fully implemented.
