Anambra Police officers’ wives distribute palliatives to cops

MEN and officers of the Anambra State Police Command smiled home on Tuesday, as the command took delivery of palliatives distributed by the Chairperson of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Anambra State Chapter, Mrs. Christine E. Abang, aimed at ameliorating the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the officers.

  The distribution of the palliative items was confirmed in a statement issued by the state’s Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, on Tuesday.

  According to the statement, items distributed to the officers included 100 bags of rice,10 bags of beans, five packets of face masks, five cartons of liquid Soap, 500 bottles of hand sanitisers,100 tubers of yam, 50 cartons of noodles, five crates of malt drink, 50 tapped buckets, three cartons of tin tomatoes, and five bags of salt.

  The statement further confirmed that the beneficiaries of the first phase of the palliative included Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha Area Command Headquarters, Police Barracks, Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi and Ihiala, Police Medical Services, Awka and Onitsha, among others.
