TRANSITION chairman, Ogbaru Local Government Council, Arinze Awogu, has charged communities in the council area, particularly Okpoko community to desist from promoting disunity but pursue peace and togetherness as a way to attract the necessary government patronage to the area.

Chief Awogu stated that absolute peace and tranquillity remains the state government’s desire in all local government areas in the state, a scenario he said enables the government a conducive platform to bring about the desired development in the council areas.

The council boss gave the charge to the community against the backdrop of leadership tussle over town union matters which has rocked the community in the aftermath of the installation of the new executives of OKpoko Development union last week.

The council chairman quipped, “I urge everyone of you to wear off the toga of the past and look on to the future, let nobody regard any person as the loser or winner but live in love, let all of you respect Governor Obiano’s desire for peace in every local government. There should be no parallel security outfit in the community”. He then challenged the new leadership of the community led by Chief Francis Enemo and Chief Rapheal Agu as chairman and secretary respectively to pursue bringing together all persons in the community in order to chart a progressive way forward.
