NGO set to hold Int’l Widow’s Day

A NON – governmental and non – profit organisation that promotes the interest of widows in Nigeria and other African countries, Virtuous Widows Association (VWA) will join the rest of the world  to celebrate  the 2020 International Widows’ Day, an annual event set aside by the United Nations (UN)  to commemorate and empower widows globally.

  According to a letter signed by the founder,  international president and host, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Bernice Egbosiuba noted that the forthcoming event will be hosted by the South East Zonal Headquarters, Awka, Anambra State on June 23 by 10: 00am at National Light Newspaper Event Centre, Anambra State  Newspapers and Printing Corporation Company, behind Government House, GRA, Awka, featuring various activities to mark the day like health walk, free medical outreach, novelty football match, cultural display, song renditions, testimonies, and achievements by the association.

  The event will feature the wife of the Anambra State Governor and founder, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano  as  the chief host.  The royal father of the day, HRH Igwe Sir Benneth Izuchukwu  Emeka (JP), the  mother of the day, Commissioner for   Women and Children Affairs, Anambra State, Ndidi Mezue while the  special guest speaker would be the the Managing Director And Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Newspaper and Printing Corporation;  Sir Chuka Nnabuife.

  Other guests include; the spiritual mother of the day as Chief, Mrs Ifeyinwa Mary Obegolu and special guest of honour as Chief. Mrs. Kate Onyechere.
