LAGOS State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hinted that the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, may have died of complications linked with COVID-19.
In a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, described the lawmaker’s death as painful.
The governor while expressing concerns over possibility of coronavirus as contributory to the death of the 64-year old senator vowed not to relent in the fight against the pandemic.
“The death of Senator Bayo Osinowo is painful. He died at a time when we have just begun to consolidate on our successes and see a ray of hope in our fight against COVID-19.
“We must not allow the death of Senator Osinowo to deter us from forging ahead in our quest to finding a lasting solution to the dreaded disease,” the statement read.
He described the late lawmaker as a fine gentleman, loyal party man and committed democrat.
Osinowo passed away on yesterday at the age of 64, after a brief illness.
