In Ihembosi, Akajiofor becomes leader of Umuenemchi

IT WAS jubilation galore at Umuenemchi, Uhualor, Ihembosi in Ekwusigo L.G.A over the weekend as Ichie Gabriel Akajiofor took over the mantle of leadership as the oldest man in Umuenemchi Kindred.

  The event attracted many personalities from Ekwusigo LGA, including the Secretary, Ihembosi Igwe-in-Council, Ichie Agada Ogbueghere Nwosu, the Parish Priest, St Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ihembosi, Rev. Father Cyprian Ohagwa and the Vicar of the Church, Rev. Father Celestine Anajemba as well as Rev. Father Ambrose Ojoko of St. John’s Catholic Church, Okija  in Ihiala L.G.A

  In a sermon at the church service, the officiating priest, Rev. Father Anajemba narrated the biblical story of King Herod of Galilee who ordered that St. John the Baptist be beheaded at the request of the daughter of Herodias and urged those in authority to lead with the fear of God and avoid being influenced by anyone or earthly things.

  Presenting a holy Bible to Ichie Akajiofor, Rev. Father Anajemba enjoined him to always remain steadfast, upright and honest as he has been and to do whatever he does with the fear of God.

  Father Anajemba advised him to lead his people properly and avoid anything that will make him deviate from the path of justice. He described leadership as a great responsibility and called the entire Umuenenchi Kindred to give Ichie Akajiofor all the necessary support.

  In his brief remarks, Ichie Akajiofor thanked God for giving him the privilege to be the oldest person in Umuenenchi Kindred and pledged to lead and guide Umuenenchi people with the fear of God.

  One remarkable feature of the event was that all COVID-19 protocols were observed by the people.
