NDE recruits 50 unemployed graduates in Anambra

NATIONAL Directorate of Employment, (NDE) in Anambra state has recruited 50 unemployed graduates  for temporary jobs under it’s internship program

  State Coordinator of NDE, Mrs Chika Ufele, who addressed the beneficiaries on Wednesday at NDE state headquarters, Amawbia, near Awka, said that the beneficiaries posted to various corporate organisations in Anambra State would serve for initial period of three months. They  would also be paid monthly stipend of N15,000 each.

  Ufele said that after the internship programme, the beneficiaries could likely secure permanent jobs at their places of primary assignments as well as become self-employed.

  The programme , which is part of the 2020 Graduate Attachment Programme(GAP), according to her, is being done in the 36 states of the federation and FCT and  a total of 1,850 jobs would be created nationwide.

  “The aim of GAP is to address the alarming level of graduate unemployment by providing them with transient jobs,” she said.

  The coordinator  added that Special Public Works Department, a departments of the NDE that seeks to identify and exploit employment opportunities that abound in the public is playing leading role in the programme.

  The coordinator further noted that the department through GAP promotes mass employment strategies through the attachment of qualified graduates to willing employers of labour on tutilage for 3-6 months.

She urged them to put in their best to the programme.

  Ufele  thanked the Director General of NDE, Dr. Nasiru Mohammed for approving the implementation of the programmes and facilitating its take off.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Victoria Nwogbo,  thanked NDE for availing them the opportunity to be productive in life and assured to be committed during the programme.
