Obiano lights up Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital

GOVERNOR Willie Obiano in his passion to provide proper health care for ndi Anambra has provided ultrasound machine and installed solar energy at Enugwu-ukwu General Hospital.

  Represented by his deputy, Dr. Nkem Okeke, he said the new equipment and facilities would provide constant power supply and help the doctors carry out diagnosis effectively

  “This is a continuous process.We will continue to support the health insurance agency. This is one of three general hospitals mapped out for major improvement in the state,” he said.

  The governor stated that by next year, there will be a great difference as they build more structures, acquire more equipment and employ more staff who will be trained to learn and understand how to use the equipments effectively.

  Speaking to National Light, Deputy Secretary, Anambra State Health Insurance Agency(ASHIA) and Special Adviser to the Governor Obiano on Health, Onyemaechi Belonwu, said ASHIA was meant to solve the problem of health care financing in the state.

  Dr. Belonwu also said that in collaboration with the Commissioner for Health, they made sure that they used the resources of the hospital judiciously to procure the necessary equipment.

  “This is a game changer in the health sector as every hospital across the state will be witnessing a positive touch in the procurement of equipment and other modern facilities,” Belonwu said.

  Chief Medical Director, Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, Dr. Onwuocha Williams, expressed delight over the new equipments procured and promised that they will be well taken care of, protected, and managed by the staff of the hospital.
