After 19 years of marriage, Ifezue couple dedicates twins

THE atmosphere was filled with joy and thanksgiving to God last Sunday at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Awka when Dominic and wife, Juliet Ifezue, active members of Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria dedicated their twin babies.

God blessed them with the twins, (a boy and a girl) Chukwupuruimeihenile and Otitodirichukwu after 19 years of marriage.

The celebration which started with a Holy Mass attracted people from different works of life.

The chief celebrant, Rev Fr Boniface Obiefuna gave all the glory to  God for his blessings on the family.

In his homily, Rev Fr Nwankiti had this to say: “It is a thing of joy and glory to God, Dominic and his wife are steadfast in the church activities. In the six years I stayed in this parish, I did not know that they were yet to bear children, it did not show in their faces, they are strong in faith”.

The priest commended the couple for their steadfastness and trust in God, saying that, “after 19 years God blessed them with twin babies. If not God, it will not have been possible. Our brother and sister stood firm in calling to God.”

“Some couples separate after one year without a child in marriage while some will lose their faith or even go where they are not supposed to go, have covenants with the devil but at last, it will be in vain. Our help is in the name of our Lord, who made heaven and earth. The God we worship does not sleep,” he maintained.

The Parish Priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Awka, Rev Fr Peter Eche, who thanked God for everything, commended the couple and received the priests, religious and everybody available.

On his part, the chairman of the occasion, a member of charismatic and former Commissioner for Works, Paulinus Ejikeme praised God and described Dominic and his wife as dedicated children of God, pointing out their outstanding commitments in the propagation of the gospel.

Mrs Dorothy Ezeokafor,; Patricia Ejie and Chinonso Okafor, in their different interviews, praised the couple for their patience and thanked God for His blessings on them.

Mrs Chinenye Okafor, Dominic’s sister and Obiageli Dike prayed that God will bless everybody that came for the event as they will have a cause to jubilate and that God will continue to bless the twins for them to grow in the fear of God even as she prayed for those in need to emulate them.

In their testimony, Dominic and Juliet read the scripture, Job 5:8 to 11 and advised everybody to present their cases to God.

“We thank God and welcome everybody here; it is a thing of joy. To His miracle there is no end. His blessing will follow all; it will not end in our home.”
