Obiano congratulates Obaseki



… Why i lost to Obaseki – Ize-Iyamu

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on his re-election as Edo State Governor.

 Governor Obiano, who conveyed the congratulatory message in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr James Eze in Awka, observed that the people of Edo State have demonstrated true commitment to democratic ideals by exercising their civic rights and returning their mandate to Governor Obaseki to continue his job as governor of Edo State for a second term.

The governor prayed for the success of Governor Obaseki’s second term in office and for the peace and progress of Edo State.

In another development, Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has condoled with the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi and the people of Ebonyi on the tragic motor accident which claimed many lives when a bus reportedly plunged into the Akaeze-Ukwu River in Ivo Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary , James Eze, Governor Obiano said that the news of the tragic accident was disheartening and commiserated with Governor Umahi and the entire Ebonyi people on the loss of precious lives.

“On behalf of my family and ndi Anambra, I hereby convey my brotherly love and condolences to the people of Ebonyi State. Death usually leaves anguish and pain in its wake. It is even more so when it claimed many lives who will be missed by their loved ones. We hold you and the people of Ebonyi State in our prayers in this moment of grief as we ask God for the peaceful repose of the dead,” Obiano said.

Meanwhile candidate of the ruling all progressive APC Oaige, Ize-Iyamu who has spoken on his loss to the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki in the just concluded Edo election.

Ize-Iyamu in a statement via twitter disclosed that his supporters had to endure many ‘evils’   as some of them was even prevented from voting.

  “I thank my supporters who had to endure many evils including being preventing from voting, for their support and determination during the election”.

  “I assure you all that am working the result along with other party members and will announce my next move soon,” he wrote.

Ize-Iyamu is yet to call Obaseki to congratulate him on his victory.
