LIVERPOOL have tasked Sadio Mane to convince Napoli star and fellow country man Kalidou Koulibaly to join them instead of Manchester City.
The 29-year-old is keen to join Man City and has agreed personal terms and already reached a provisional contract agreement with Pep Guardiola’s side. According to Le Parisien (via GFFN), Liverpool are looking to pip Manchester City to the signature of the Napoli centre-back.
Liverpool want to bolster their defence this season after the club’s manager, Jurgen Klopp had to play Fabinho in central defence alongside Virgil van Dijk against Chelsea on Sunday.
They are however, not the only top club in for the signature of the Senegalese. Ligue 1 side, PSG are also being linked with the man but the Seria A side are asking for around £74 million (€80 million) for his signature and they aren’t keen to pay that much.
He is expected to leave Napoli this summer, it will be interesting to see whether Liverpool will be able to meet their demands and his as Klopp had always wished for a Koulibaly-Van Dirk partnership.
