Liverpool vs Arsenal kick-off moved forward to beat curfew



LIVERPOOL’S Premier League clash with Arsenal has been brought forward by 15 minutes to ensure it finishes before the UK’s new 10pm pub curfew.

  Next Monday’s match at Anfield was originally scheduled for an 8:15pm kick-off. which would have seen pub-goers asked to leave before the final whistle as part of new measures to curb the spread of coronavirus,

  It has been given a new start time of 8pm with the other game that evening – Fulham vs Aston Villa – also brought forward 15 minutes to ensure there is no overlap.

  The Premier League has also announced that every game over the weekend of 3-5 October will be shown live on Sky Sports or BT Sport.

  All matches that weekend will now be behind closed doors after the government scrapped plans to allow spectators to return to sports venues on a socially-distanced basis from October 1.

  The Premier League confirmed Sky would screen six matches and BT four on the opening weekend in October.

  “In consultation with all relevant stakeholders, the Premier League is considering appropriate arrangements for matches that will take place after October 4.”
