Ogbunike holds rally to support Obiano, Osodieme

OGBUNIKE community in Oyi Council Area have added their voices in support of Governor Willie Obiano-led administration and thanked him for the infrastructural projects in the community, political appointments and respect for rule of law.

The rally was led by Ndi Ichie Ogbunike, Ogbunike Progress Union, market women, political appointees, Ogbunike women and youths.

The solidarity rally was held at Ogbunike Town Hall and was filled to capacity.

The chairman of the occasion and Oyi Council Chairman, Dr. Nnamdi Nwadiogbu (immediate past PG of Ogbunike), in his opening remarks, recalled that before the Obiano government, there was no significant presence of government in the community and condemned those who are using the social media to push lies about the developmental projects being carried out by the governor in the community.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman,  Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Peter Egenti and Caretaker PG of Ogbunike Progressive Union, Comrade Chukwugozie Ikegulu could not hide their joy as they commended the people of the community for coming out en masse to show solidarity to the governor and their daughter, Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano and assured them that they are fully in support of Obiano’s administration and his people-centred policies, urging them to ignore attacks by a handful of people that do not wish the community well.

Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu, President General, Anambra State Market Traders Association (ASMATA), commended the government for its good work in the community and pleaded for more projects.

Ekwegbalu, also in his speech, maintained that the policies of the Obiano administration have made life more meaningful for traders and the entire ndi Anambra.

Other stakeholders who aired their views to show support for the rally include, Lady Ifeoma Okaro, Chairman, Post Primary School Services Commission, Chief Nwafor Onyezia, President, Ndi Ichie Ogbunike and Lady Bibian Onwuka, President, Ogbunike Women Association, Samuel Odinye, SSA Transport,  Okey Anyanyo, SSA IGR,  Uche Nwobi, SSA Transport, among others.

The community also used the opportunity to appeal to the governor to direct other contractors who are not yet back to site to do so.

A solidarity march by youths, women and men groups through the town hall to Oye-Olisa Market, accompanied by different music troupes with banners thanking the governor and his wife for his performances in infrastructure, security, agriculture and many others since he assumed office added glamour to the rally.

Some other groups who joined the rally included the beneficiaries of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) that were empowered after undergoing skills acquisition training and widows that were gifted  fully furnished houses and boreholes through the NGO set up by y Dr.Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, (Osodieme).
