YOUTHS from all over Anambra State have been urged to have a rethink before participating in destroying Government and private property under #EndSARS protest.
In a homily during Sunday Mass celebration, the Priest at Holy Family Catholic Church, Nkpor, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Maduka emphasised the need for the youth to stave-off destroying property and roads across the state.
The reverend enjoined them to also pray for the State government that had given empowerments to the youth in the state.
He urged the youth to maintain government directives on the curfew that would effectively run from 6pm to 6 am daily.
“Do not allow hoodlums to come in and destroy our infrastructures, such as secretariat, Police Station, Schools, Roads and other Government facilities,” he pleaded.
“Killing people and causing violence during the protest would not solve our problems,” he lamented.
“Always pray for Nigeria in distress, so that God will come and intervene in the situation of the country.’’
“Rev. Maduka expressed dissatisfaction at how hoodlums had taken advantage of the protest to commit criminal acts and killings.
He cautioned them to be wise and not to be used by the opposition to the government.
He prayed for peace to reign and for the souls of the departed youth to rest in perfect peace.
The clergy also sympathised with the families, friends and well wishers of those who lost their lives during the protest in various parts of the country.
