WIFE of Anambra State Governor and Founder of Caring Family Enhancement (CAFÉ) initiative, Ebelechukwu Obiano  yesterday, called for compulsory education for all children.

Dr.  Mrs. Obiano made the call Otuocha, the headquartres of Anambra East Local          Government Area during where the governor’s wife concluded the

of her annual tour of local government areas in Anambra State.

Speaking on the need for child education, Mrs. Obiano noted that by giving educational opportunities to young children, both parents and guardians are not only building brighter future for their young ones but even the society stands to benefit in the long run.

According to the governor’s wife, parents should endeavor to do all that is necessary for their children to be in school, noting that with the Gov. Willie Obiano-led   administration prioritization of basic education as a strategy to laying stronger foundation for children, only an indolent parent would allow his or her ward to be left behind.

Mrs. Obiano also used the event to distribute Christmas gifts and COVID-19 palliatives to women, orphans, the physically challenged and other less privileged ones from all the communities in the area.

Items distributed include bags of rice, yams, beans, condiments, toiletry, and domestic skill acquisition tools.

It will be recalled that Mrs. Obiano had toured other local government areas in the state during which she sponsored free skill acquisition training and empowerment programmes for women and youths, free surgeries for children with cleft lips and palates and provision of prosthetic arms and limbs for the physically challenged persons, under CAFÉ auspices, before visiting Otuocha to round off the programme.
