In Nnewi, market association fetes less-privileged persons

MEMBERS of New Auto Spare Parts Association, Nnewi, have hosted over 2000 less privileged individuals, compromising the blind, the crippled, the dumb, inmates from various church organisations, indigent widows, as well as patients at Nnamdi Azikwe Teaching Hospital ( NAUTH), Nnewi.

  The occasion was kick started with a prayer session and thanksgiving .

The Anglican Bishop , Diocese of Amichi,  the Rt Rev E.O. Ikeakor, called on Christains to stop being in a hurry over what they need but to always wait for God’s time . He urged NASPA members to imbibe christly virtues and humility in their endeavours, even as he praised the NASPA Chairman, Obinna Okechukwu and his executive for meeting the needs of the less privileged.

 NASPA Chairman, Obinna Okechukwu said that the purpose of their yearly Christmas hosting of the less privileged from all parts of the South – South states was to give them sense of belonging that they are part  God’s  creation, adding  that all the 213 zones of NASPA participated with gifts, decorations and huge packages.

 John Emeka Okoli (Akajiugo)  and frontline member of Anambra State Youth Movements, Madam Sylva Vero Nweke  commended the leadership of Obinna Okechkwu who endeared himself to all the 21 zones that make up the association through his humble and unassuming nature.

 A representative of the less privileged, Felix Nnamdi Okoro expressed thankfulness at the timely gesture of ndi NASPA and prayed to God to keep them waxing from strength to strength.

  Categories of donated items include bags of rice, beans, garri, wheat, detergents, yam tubers , fairly used clothes, among others.

 Some of the packages came from Mrs Amaka Ogbuawa, who said that she decided to join in remembering the less privilege  this Christmas period in order to make them enjoy the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ.
