EU trade deal looking difficult, door still open – UK

BRITISH Prime Minister Boris Johnson says trade talks with the European Union are looking difficult and there is a gap needed to be bridged, but the door for further negotiations remains open.

  Disclosing this today in a statement, the British Prime Minister said the United Kingdom and European Union will continue to explore ways of finding a truce in the deal.

  “Obviously the UK’s position is always that we want to keep talking if there’s any chance of a deal,” Johnson said.

  Continuing, “but we have also got to recognise that the UK has got to be able to control its own laws, it’s what people voted for, and we’ve also got to be able to control our waters and fishing rights.”

  He added: “our door is open, we’ll keep talking but I have to say things are looking difficult. There’s a gap that needs to be bridged.”
