Obiano renews call for `Akulueuno’ initiative

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has renewed his call for ‘Akulueuno’ investment initiative.

Gov. Obiano reiterated the policy while speaking when he commissioned a one-kilometre road and solar powered street light projects in Uke, Idemmili North Local Government Area.

Speaking through Permanent Secretary in Anambra State Ministry of Works, Emeka Ohuoha, who represented him at the event, Gov. Obiano urged affluent individuals in the state to emulate the sponsor f the projects, Tochukwu Kpajie, by bringing some of their wealth home through investments.

According to him, though many people heeded the `Akuluouno’ call, the state still needs more investment in the critical sectors of economy.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Caretaker Chairman, Uke Development Union, Chuks Ezeoba, expressed support for the state government’s development initiatives, citing on-going Umueri Cargo Airport as exemplary.

Similarly, Gov. Obiano has restated his administration’s commitment to partnering the church to promote the growth of societal norms and values.

Governor Obiano stated this while speaking through Anambra State Head of Service, Harry Udu who represented him at function organized by the churches to continue praying for the government.

He also reminded the church of the need to observe all COVID-19 protocols in order to curtail its spread.

  Thanking God for the propagation of the gospel to all the nook and crannies of the state, the governor noted that the present administration has shown much commitment and interest in things of the church more especially as it concerns the formation and grooming of Anambra youths.
