Anambra commences N2b new micro credit scheme

ANAMBRA state government has commenced distribution of another N2 billion commercial loan to entrepreneurs for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to revive the economy of the state.

  Managing Director of Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA), Sir Clement Chukwuka, disclosed this while unveiling the programmes of the agency for the year in Awka.

According to Chukwuka, the loan is being managed by ASBA to support the productive ventures and entrepreneurial spirit of ndi Anambra as well as encourage the success of MSMEs in the state.

He further explained that the scheme was introduced as part of Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration to motivate entrepreneurship especially, adding that the current scheme was similar to another N2billion loan disbursed by ASBA in 2015 and 2016 to over 30,000 registered entrepreneurs out of which over 90 percent has been recovered.

Chukwuka also stated that the state government in partnership with federal government has established one-stop shop at Ogbunike behind the shoe industrial cluster for the development of MSMEs in the state.

He said the one-stop shop till house shoe equipment, Bank of Industry, Development Bank of Nigeria, Cooperate Affairs Commission and other agencies have all given commended the Anambra entrepreneurship credit scheme.
