FOMER Abia state governor Senator Theodore Orji has faulted the senator for Kogi West Mr Smart Adeyemi for using the floor of the senate during it’s proceedings to abuse his Abia state governor Okezie Ikpeazu calling him a drunkard.
He worried that the Senator’s insult was also uncalled for because the matter being discussed by the Senators in session, to which senator Adeyemi was contributing, did not relate to Ikpeazu.
Senator Orji who is now senator for Abia Central, wondered why a man like Smart Adeyemi could go out of esteem as a senator to vocalize such uncouthness on a serving governor of Abia State without hindrance.
Senator Orji in the statement by his Chief Liaison Officer Mr Ifeanyi Umere consequently demanded from Senator Adeyemi a retraction of his insults on the person of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and a well worded apology to the people of Abia a state without delay.
According to senator Orji, the senator should extend his apology to all Abians who elected Governor Ikpeazu back to back for two consecutive times as their Governor.
He argued why senatorAdeyemi should insult an elected and guiltless governor while he has never occupied or sought to occupy the office of governor as to know or feel the enormity, dignity and carriage which the office conveys on a governor.
” By senator Adeyemi’s utterances, Abians have been scorned in the face, and Senator Smart Adeyemi must crawl on his knees in utmost penitence and confession to court the forgiveness of all Abians for daring to insult Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, a man with whom Abians are well pleased”. END
