FEDERAL Road Safety Corps has assured ndi Anambra that it would ensure that the state had a crash-free Easter celebration this year.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Sector Public Education Officer of the Anambra Sector Command, Florence Edor.

The release posited that in view of the forthcoming Easter celebration on Sunday, Anambra Sector Command has deployed 550 of her personnel, both officers and marshals  and  650 special marshals for traffic control and rescue operations.

The state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Andrew Ayodele Kumapayi explained that as a lead agency in traffic management, FRSC Anambra was committed to ensuring a safer motoring environment during this Easter celebration and that the command would ensure Ndi Anambra traveled for Easter celebration safely without any interference along her major highways.

Kumapayi said all flash points known for traffic gridlock would be manned such that tow trucks and ambulances will be deployed at strategic points in the state to clear any obstruction and administer emergency cases respectively.

The sector commander explained further that the command will also collaborate with other sister agencies to ensure Easter crash free celebration.

He however warned motorists to desist from all traffic infractions during this period, especially driving against traffic, drunk driving, non installation of speed limiting device, use of phone while driving, speeding and overloading as the command has set up mobile courts to try traffic offenders.

According to him, the command will also deploy her personnel to parks and fleet operators’ terminals to conduct tests on  drivers in order to detect drunk drivers and disallowed them from driving.

Kumapayi therefore extended his warm greetings to ndi Anambra as they celebrate this year’s Easter and also admonished them to call 122 toll free lines in a case of crash or gridlock.
