GOVERNOR Willie Obiano’s giant strides in all sectors of the economy since the inception of his administration and the uncommon transformation witnessed in these sectors will ever remain green in the minds of ndi Anambra.
In a press statement in his office, the Provost, Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi, Robinson Mgbakogu recalled that on assumption of office, Governor Obiano rolled out his four pillars of development and their enablers which formed the basis of his administration.
He pointed out that with this blue print and his robust plans and programmes, he got his vision and mission right, appointed right caliber of persons with requisite experiences and set out the machinery of government in motion.
Dr. Mgbakogu noted that the governor had a good beginning and was really prepared to succeed and leave Anambra State much better than he met it.
Mgbakogu stated that the governor’s developmental thrusts in all spheres of governance is legendry, adding that his intervention in the education sector is unprecedented, citing exceptional performances of our students in internal and external exams like NABTEB, WAEC, GCE, and that feat exhibited by one JAMB candidate from Anambra, who broke JAMB’s 42 years old record to come tops to score 365 out of 400 in Nigeria as well as their brilliant performances, also in national and international quiz and debate competitions as cases in point.
Dr. Mgbakogu paid glowing tribute to the Obiano administration for its numerous achievements in the health sector, even as he gave it kudos for its robust intervention in his college, Anambra State College of Health Technology, Obosi, where, according to him, the administration has put in place most of the required provision to give the college the much desired lift.
He pointed out that great successes have been recorded by this government in other areas such as in security where his blueprint has earned Anambra the award of safest state in the country, in youth empowerment and employment where his administration’s Anambra State Business Agency (ASBA), has been on hand giving soft loans to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Agency (ANSIPPA) which guides and directs investors to ensure they succeed in their investments in the state.
Mgbakogu enumerated some awards won by governor Obiano like the Ziks Leadership Award, Sun Governor of the year Award, Silver Bird TV Man of the Year Award, the Most Labour Friendly governor of the Year Award and made it clear that these awards were as a consequence of his good vision, missions and excellence in governance.
Dr. Mgbakogu also paid glowing tribute to the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ) of the governor’s wife, describing the NGO as a “moving force”, “a great tool” of community development which has empowered thousands of Anambra youths, gave succor to the vulnerable, less privileged and the aged in our society.
