Anambra, working to arrest insecurity – Adinuba

ANAMBRA State Government said it was determined more than ever before to arrest the ugly trend of attacks on both the military and police formations in the state.

  Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C. Don Adinuba made this declaration while fielding questions from newsmen, weekend, at the last ofala festival of Igwe Cyril Nwabunwanne Enweze of Umuoji, Idemili North local Government Area.

  He said, “you should know that in all the attacks, no civilian has been attacked. We are not standing akimbo watching the issue.”

  According to the commissioner, the state government is in control of the situation despite the ugly incident that put fear on the residents of the state.

  “We are in control, we have taken decisive step which I will not announce because security matter is not something one will announce in public arena.”

  “It is already yielding results. As you can, the police have arrested eight persons who were involved in the attack of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the leading APGA gubernatorial aspirant”.

  “So we are not resting on our elbow. There is no state in Nigeria that is as safe as Anambra State.”

  Admitting that there is insecurity nationally, the commissioner reiterated that “Anambra remains the safest state.”

  Recall that the attack on security operatives by unidentified gunmen started with the Navy where it lost about six personnel and their arms carted away.

  Then, they descended on the police, killing scores and razing both their facilities and vehicles.
