THE Ondo State Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Akure has dismissed the petition filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede against Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Delivering its judgement in Akure this afternoon, the chairman of the three-member panel, Justice Umar Abubakar said the tribunal struck out Jegede’s petition for want of Jurisdiction.

According to him “issues raised therein in this petition are settled as the issues of internal affairs and management of a political party which this Tribunal has no jurisdiction to entertain in settling the conflict or dispute between the parties to the petition”

It will be recalled that Jegede had challenged the victory of the ruling APC and its candidate in the October 10, 2020 governorship election which saw Gov. Akeredolu re-elected for a second term in office.
