A GROUP known as Umuada Igbo Nigeria and in Diaspora, the umbrella body of daughters of Igbo land with ECOSOC Status at United Nations, New York, USA and Geneva, Switzerland has commended Governor Willie Obiano for successful construction and test-running of Anambra State Cargo and Passenger Airport at Umueri, Anambra East LGA.

In a release signed by the group’s president general and founder, Lolo Kate U. Ezeofor and National Secretary, Dame Kate Chibuzo, it described Obiano as a wonder governor who has carved his name on a golden plaque of history following the landing of three test-run flights at the airport. “Our wonder working governor, indeed, you have proven that you are a leader with a midas touch. History will be kind to you,” it stated.

The group while appreciating the federal government for giving Anambra State the license and approval to build the airport without which the feat would not have been possible, applauded the Chairman, CEO of Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema for identifying with the epoch making project. It also commended the pilot, Nwando Phina Okpalaeke.

It would be recalled that on June 10, 2018, the group during their thanksgiving mass and award giving day held at Holy Trinity Parish, Independence Layout, Enugu, presented an award to Governor Willie Obiano as the Welfare-Oriented Governor of the year for his hard work in providing security in the state, empowering each town in the state, saying that Obiano is currently the only governor in the country with all the employees and pensioners paid as when due. “You are the only governor that had a clear win of 21 over 21 which has never happened in the history of Nigeria.”

They equally honoured Chief Allen Onyema as the best air carrier of the year and also for creating employment for Nigerians, thereby reducing the number of the unemployed youths.
