Akili Ozizor monarch promises to foster peace, devp

TRADITIONAL ruler of Akili Ozizor in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Lawrence Ogugua Oduah has promised to continue promoting peace and to attract more governmental projects that will bring further development in his community.

Igwe Oduah, who ascended the throne after 25 years of vacancy occasioned by the demise of the late Igwe John Obiechina Oduah gave the assurance during his coronation/maiden ofala festival last weekend at his palace.

“Akili Ozizor community is a peace loving community. We experienced no crises because of Igweship. It takes a long process before the emergence or selection of a new traditional ruler, hence, the gap before coronation of a new Igwe. So, I thank Almighty God for his benevolence and my people for their patience and for choosing me as their new king.

“Government has done some projects around this community but we shall be grateful if both federal and state governments do more”, he said.

Moreover,  Igwe Dubem Iweka of Obosi Ukwalla kingdom and his counterpart, Igwe Raymond Omoja (Rtd) of Owelle kingdom, who came to felicitate with the new monarch advised him to avoid partisan politics but be a father to all members of his community.

Prince Agunobi Oduah, his younger brother expressed joy, saying that their community had been liberated after a long wait for a new monarch. He said that he was certain the new monarch known for his good reputation would use his vast connection to attract both local and international investors to develop Akili Ozizor community, adding that his brother would use the throne as a platform to give back to the community.

Moreso, an Anambra State gubernatorial aspirant under the All Peoples Congress (APC), Rev Godwin Okonkwo prayed that God will give the new traditional ruler good health, wisdom and sanctified common sense to understand the times and his people.
