UMUCHU community and the entire Diocese of Aguata Anglican Communion will on Saturday, honour the late Catechist Gabriel N. Ezekwo for his service to God and to humanity.
This was disclosed by a top journalist and historian, Ejiofo Umegbogu of Radio Nigeria (Purity FM), when he paid a visit to Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation in respect to the event.
Mr Umegbogu stated that the event will also serve as an opportunity to unveil the renovated old St. Thomas Church/ Umuchu Unity Centre, which has been renamed after the late catechist and the public presentation of the book, “In His days”, a biography written in honour of the late catechist.
In continuation, Umegbogu described the late catechist as the forebear of Christendom and western education in the old Aguata and Orlu Divisions of the present Anambra and Imo States, respectively.
The event, which is expected to attract people from all walks of life within Anambra State and beyond will hold at the premises of St Thomas Anglican Church, Umuchu, by 12noon.
The ceremony will be presided by The Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr Samoel Chukwudi Ezeofor,while the book presentation and review will be done by the Bishop of ENUGU North Diocese, Rt Rev Dr Sosthenes I. Eze and Anambra State Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha, respectively.
