Medic recommends health insurance scheme to all

CHIEF medical director of the Edozie Maternity Hospital, Ifite Dunu, Johnson Ezedinachi has called on the citizenry to take advantage of the state health insurance health scheme to key into the policy which ensures quick, reliable and sustainable health for all subscribers.

  Dr.Ezedinachi in a press statement on the imperatives of the scheme, announced that his hospital offers medical services free of charge for all subscribers provided that they register accordingly in line with policy guidelines.

  The medical expert noted that civil servants in the formal sector are eligible to benefit from the scheme courtesy of the deduction from the source mechanism which makes them automatic beneficiaries.  

For people in the informal sector, Dr.Ezedinachi  urged them to register with the annual tN12,000 to receive free treatment for all kinds of ailments.

 For pregnant women, the medical expert said they must register with their spouses to benefit from the scheme. Dr. Ezedinachi noted that the scheme will provide a lifeline for people who assess health late because of paucity of funds.

  The medical director appealed to people residing in Ifite Dunu, Abagana, Abba, Awkuzu, Ukpo and environs to take advantage of the proximity of the Edozie Maternity Hospital in Ifite Dunu to register in the hospital under the umbrella of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency.

  Dr .Ezedinachi used the forum to appeal to the citizenry who have not taken the COVID-19 vaccine to do so to avert the spread of the virus.

  He warned that at least, 80% of the citizenry should vaccinate to keep the spread of the virus in check.

 On his part, an Onitsha based medical expert, Dr. Patrick Nwagbara urged people to be serious about observing all the COVID-19 protocols to contain the spread of the virus.

 Dr. Nwagbara noted that people are free to take the COVID-19 vaccines or not as long as they take the necessary steps to play safe.
